I've given the camera away...thanks for your participation.
Hard to believe all the crap that's accumulated around here...ok, not really hard to believe. I do like my cheap toys. Even so, you know when you have 2 cameras in packages that have never been opened, you just might have a problem.
Such is the case with the 2 Superheadz 22mm plastic wonders in that drawer over there. I found the Vivitar UWS that went missing and I've also received a Ricoh R1 that might just replace all those plastic wonders.
Rather than sell those cameras I thought I'd see if I could find one of them a good home. So, what I need from you is a nomination or 2 of someone you feel deserves such a magnificent gift (1 roll of Ektar included).
This deserving person should be, well...deserving. It should be someone that doesn't already have one of these. It might even be good if it were someone thats never shot film. I don't mind prosthelytizing for film, maybe I can make a convert.
So, if you have someone in mind, send me their twitter name or their url or their flickr username, and perhaps a word or two on why you think they should receive the camera.
Please, don't nominate yourself. We all like free stuff, but let's make this a giving thing, ok?
I'd like to nominate: http://www.flickr.com/photos/musicpurr/
Why? Because her pictures are amazing, and because she's been doing a ton of free photoshoots for artists, bands and musicians around LA and San Francisco and has never asked for a penny. It would be cool if she got some of that karma back.

why? because altho she is an amazing video vixen her first love was photography and shes been out of practice for a while and having recently got a medium format camera i think your camera would be a good stepping stone to have a bit of fun and freedom with before she gets well into the medium format again. she recently moved sooooooo far away so would be an amazing pick me up for her

He drives a truck for a living, and gets to experience places and things that most of us don't in our professions. He carries in his backpack a very heavy Canon AE-1, which can be cumbersome. Often the moment is lost because of the required manual settings.
I think a lightweight, click the shutter and go type of camera will help him broaden his photography skills as well as help him capture all of the moments he desires.

I'd like to nominate my friend Jace who suffers from PTSD and Autism as well as other things. He loves art and it's one of the few outlets that lets him explore life as he knows it and keeps him from going totally mad. He uses digital cameras, but I'm not sure if he's ever been able to play with film much. He's pretty isolated, living off of very little income, and has been a truly great friend to me in times of need despite all his own personal hardships. I'd love to give him a little joy back. :) He's done some amazing work and while all of it is not my cup of tea, I hope he can raise money with his work to better his life and move to a better place emotionally and phsycially... http://dysamoria.com/

Hi
Since i'd love one of these but can't nominate myself, I'd like to nominate my Flickr friend Adila: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bog_dana/5486892528/in/contacts/
Why? Because she's a brilliant digital photographer and I'd love to see what she could do with film. I'm sure she could excel
Thank you

I would like to nominate http://www.flickr.com/photos/btting.
He started digital and now uses film. I don't know how but he always manages to make brilliant shots (sneaky, I envy the beauty and style of his pictures) so I can't wait seeing the result of him using the UWS.

Patty Bogle and her late husband, Chris, built Bogle Vineyards from 18 acres of grapes into one of the best inexpensive wine producers in the world. The company ships more than 1.2 million cases of wine annually, and Wine Business Monthly ranked Bogle as the country's 14th-largest winery.

People with autism are also gifted with artistic talents. It is because of their unorthodox thinking.
